Who are the Kansas City Royals' Trade Chips?

Plenty of people talk about who the Royals might target, but who might they give up?

This is Major League Baseball in the 21st century. The clear-cut line between buyers and sellers has never been more muddled in a time when teams are trying to maximize efficiency and more teams than ever make the playoffs. Some might argue the Royals should be buyers in this trade deadline. I’d argue, they should be both buyers and sellers—looking to improve their 2025 team while also keeping an eye on setting the team up well in the future.

With that in mind, I’m going to break down who the Royals have to offer in trade and what I think the return should be. Some of these players will be prospects; others will be MLB talent. But I go into this exercise with the idea of making the MLB team no worse than it currently is (and hopefully better) and improving its long-term outlook.
