Second Half Feels Good Already
The Royals get the second half started with a bang against the White Sox.
Yes, the White Sox are terrible, but it is crucial for playoff-hopeful teams to take advantage of soft stretches in their schedule. The Royals have missed a couple of those opportunities in the last six weeks, but they kicked off the second half with another one. And they’re taking advantage, beating the crap out of the White Sox in the first two with Seth Lugo going for the sweep today.
Four of the Royals’ first five series coming out of the All-Star break are against teams who, as of July 21st, have sub-.500 records. That includes two series against the White Sox who the Royals have absolutely dominated this season.
The Royals have climbed back into a tie for the final wild card spot and sit six games back of the Guardians in the AL Central.
