Royals Hotter Than a Firecracker ... Against Bad Teams Anyway
The Royals are winners of 16 of their last 19. Now, they have to prove it against stiffer competition.
When the Royals were 8-14, commentators looked at the last three weeks of games with a sliver of hope. Series against the Rockies, Rays, White Sox, and struggling Orioles promised an opportunity to get healthy.
And, boy, did the Royals get healthy.
In Royals have won their last five series, including sweeps against the Rays, Rockies, and White Sox. The pitching continues to dominate, the defense has finally looked like itself again, and the hitting has turned a corner with slow starters Vinnie Pasquantino and Michael Massey finally starting to contribute.
Today, the Royals go for a sixth series win in a row against a decent team in the Boston Red Sox. In the following month, the Royals will get a chance to prove if they’ve got what it takes against some better competition with series against the Giants (24-16), Cardinals (21-19), and Tigers (26-14).
