The hard part about writing these before the result of Sunday’s game is that the outcome of Sunday’s game can really change the perception of the week. The Royals lost a series to the Reds to start this week (that was rough), but they have a chance to win a series against the Tigers with a win today.

Taking a series from the Tigers would be a huge morale boost to a fanbase that has grown fairly frustrated with the boys in blue. The offense’s inability to score makes for some heartbreaking losses.

The Royals have taken some actions to help the offense—promoting Nick Loftin and John Rave for example—but that has yet to bear fruit. And they seem reluctant to go all in on the offensive makeover with Michael Massey still holding onto a roster spot despite a .496 OPS.
