Everybody Panic!

The Royals are riding a six-game losing streak right out of a playoff spot.

One of my favorite political podcasters always tells his listeners to ‘worry, don’t panic'. In the case of the Royals, I think it’s probably ok to do both.

After a series win against the Pirates left the Royals with near-100% odds of making the playoffs, the team has promptly rolled off a six-game losing streak that sees them only one game up on the Tigers (and half a game up on the Twins) for a Wild Card spot.

One game isn’t nothing with only seven left to play, and the Royals hold the tie breaker with the Tigers so it’s really a two-game lead. Still, I’m not sleeping real well knowing if the Royals continue to play like they have, we’ll see what was one of the greatest turnaround stories in baseball history turn into a pumpkin just in time for October.
