All the Races Tighten!

The Royals find themselves in contention for the Wild Card and the AL Central

The biggest story of the week for the Royals doesn’t really have anything to do with them. Sure, they went 2-3, which didn’t help their standing for the last AL Wild Card Spot, but the real story took place wherever Cleveland was.

But in a very intriguing development, Cleveland went 1-6 this week, including two losses to the Twins, which made the AL Central race a very competitive one with a month and half remaining. Three-and-a-half games separate the Guardians and Royals with the Twins wedged in between them. And, of course, the Royals play the Guardians seven more times and the Twins six more times before the season ends.
